Gunnies donated $10,000 to the Provo Shooting Range and Provo City matched the donation to improve the range by adding covered shooting benches. Gunnies has two reserved range days a month. Gunnies also hosted a Learn to Shoot Day in the fall of 2006, which included visits from local manufacturer representatives to demonstrate products. This opportunity for the community educated new shooters to become more familiar with safe firearm operations and shooting sports. "We need to keep our kids interested in gun education, and we also need to give our community more opportunity to shoot. Most of the old places people could go shoot their guns have been closed down.
